The Yates County Legislature is the governing body of Yates County, consisting of nine members elected by district. The Legislature adopts the annual county budget, sets county tax rates, enacts local laws, and oversees all county departments and services. The Legislature meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Yates County Courthouse, 415 Liberty Street, Penn Yan.
